SILICON SUPREMACY

China and its annex territory, Taiwan, announced that they would no longer export silicon – the primary component in computer chips – to any foreign country.  That left Brazil as the only country with an abundant supply of the metaloid.  But the silicon production in that country is being controlled by a megalomaniac, Damien Archer, who is holding America hostage.

Ninety percent of all machines and devices are now controlled by computer chips.  The chip manufacturers are scrambling to secure the metalloid from other providers, but no country has any measurable amounts of the material.

American president James P. Hardessy sends his top agent, Paul Decker, to learn what is happening in Brazil and overcome all obstacles to get the silicon back on the open market.

But Paul faces a brilliant opponent in Damien Archer who is holding the world hostage and will only sell the chips at usurious prices.  But his plan is even more insidious than that.  The chips are flexible and can control human behavior if implanted in people.

Damien has surrounded himself with heavily armed mercenaries who owe their allegiance to him while Paul has no one in the country to back him up.

Paul must rely on a small group of villagers willing to fight with shovels and picks and axes against machine guns and hand grenades.

A final battle is at hand, but at that moment Paul and his volunteers are far outnumbered and outgunned and face annihilation unless the promised help arrives on time.
