THE DEATH ZONE

The death zone is the name used by high altitude mountain climbers where there is not enough oxygen to breathe; above 8,000 meters or 26,247 feet.  The great majority of climbers who have died in the Karakorum Range have died in the death zone.

An international expedition is set to climb Mt. Everest.  Ambassadors from the six nations possessing nuclear weapons, will try to ascend the mountain, thereby establishing a working relationship between countries that have been adversaries for decades.  Once home they will hammer out a nuclear disarmament agreement due to the camaraderie built on the camaraderie built on the climb.

The remnants of ISIS have been planning a series of great strikes against the infidels.  Working with limited resources, men and money, they are devising multiple operations that, if successful, may kill millions, possibly hundreds of millions of people guilty of nothing more that worshiping a different god.  But for Muslims, that is the greatest sin and must, therefore, warrant the most extreme wrath of Allah.

The terrorists will attack the infidels on four fronts at once: the releasing of small pox in America, Marburg in the Sahel, a suicide bomber in Algiers and the Everest expedition in Nepal.

President James P. Hardessy enlists the help of protagonist Paul Decker to track down the Marburg virus that has been transported to Kathmandu, Nepal and while there, protect the ambassadors.

The president has teamed Paul up with a biologist who knows how to handle the Marburg and is also an experienced climber.  But unknown to Paul and the president, she is, in fact, a member of the extreme Jihadist group, The Army of Justice.

CIA Operative, Kyle Lacy is sent to Turkey to track down the suicide bombers prepared to attack two venues in Africa.

The American government is stretched thin attempting to locate the perpetrators and circumvent the plots.

On Mt. Everest, a life and death decision must be made.  Do the ambassadors risk all to achieve the summit in the midst of a violent storm, or do they accept the fact that

All four plots by the terrorists are moving forward, in spite of the forces waged against them.  All the while a clock is ticking down to zero.
