Dear Mr. Nassetta:
I sent you a letter, dated 9/2/2025 but did not hear back from you.
My correspondence was respectful, detailed and correct in its content, yet you chose to ignore it and me.
You probably said to yourself, “What the F- can this A-Hole do to me and my great, all-knowing, omnipotent company?
Well, you’re about to find out.
I am a journalist who has vilified companies larger than yours. I have written 54 books and thousands of articles on social, political, economic and scientific issues.
I have had a blog for 20 years and have a following of (over) 150,000. Of course, there are times when a post goes viral and gets picked up by millions more.
You had a chance to respond and address and rectify both my issues and the issues at your hotel. You chose not to and now you will see the results of your hubris.
Following is the article I posted on my blog and will never come down…ever. It will be reposted often, and it will cost you (Hundred? Thousands? Tens of thousands) customers and a good chunk of your reputation.
Love,
Jeffry Weiss
Follow is that article.
Dear Friends:
Today, I would like to share with you my experience staying at a Hampton Inn in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
Where to begin?
I guess check-in would be the best place.
When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I waited for 15 minutes. When a desk agent finally arrived, I ask him if there was some problem with the hotel…something I should know about. He said he was just busy. Not, sorry, or pardon the wait, just that he was busy. To say he was a surly person would be an understatement. I was given my key cards and went to my room. The door was so swollen by humidity that I had to throw my shoulder into it to open the door.
Next, I could not figure how to turn on the lights in the room, so I called the front desk. Same agent. I asked him to please send someone up to show me. He said, “The engineer is not available right now.” “Engineer?” I asked him. I just need someone to show me where the switches are. Someone came up reluctantly and showed me.
I left a wakeup call for 8:00 a.m. so I could get the free breakfast. I’m sure you can imagine what happened. No wake-up call. I missed breakfast. I had to go out and find a restaurant. For the record that happened all three nights I was at the hotel. Three missed breakfasts, three meals paid for out of pocket.
The next day, my room was not made up. I asked for that to be done. It was not. The next day I asked again (now two nights without the room made up, using two-day old towels. Finally, I was told that in order to get the room made up you have to tell the front desk by 9:00 a.m. I asked where in the literature it says you must inform the front desk that morning by 9:00 am. He handed me a 1” X 1” piece of paper that said that. So, my room was never made up in all the time I stayed at the hotel.
The room was ancient, with lamps and chairs from the 1980s.
No glasses in the room. No water in the room. No toothpaste in the room. No hairdryer in the room (all assured).
It was, without doubt, the worst hotel experience I can ever remember having.
Now, to the point…..NEVER, EVER stay at ANY of the hotels in the Hilton Worldwide chain. That list includes:
Curio Collection by Hilton
Home2 Suites by Hilton
DoubleTree by Hilton
Embassy Suites by Hilton
Hilton Garden Inn
LXR Hotels & Resorts
Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts
Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District
Conrad Hotels
Hampton by Hilton
Motto by Hilton Washington DC City Center
Tru by Hilton
Signia by Hilton Atlanta Georgia World Congress Center
Tapestry Collection
Tempo by Hilton New York Times Square
Hilton Grand Vacations
Caribe Hilton
Conrad
Hilton Hotels & Resorts
LivSmart Studios by Hilton Tullahoma
Nomad
Spark by Hilton
Now, allow me o explain to why you should never visit these properties. You are NOT STAYING at a HILTON WORLDWIDE PROPERTY. These hotels are run by independent people who are not part of that company. They are all franchisees. Their goal is not to represent the brand. Their goal is to maximize their profits. They cut (EVERY) corner. They lie, the exaggerate, they misinform, they cheat, they scam, they deny, they delay.
Here is a list of hotels that are not part of the Hilton chain and that operate honestly and forthrightly:
Note how many options you have.
